Summer Drama Club 2015!

The Playing Space has now released details of the drama workshops we plan to run this summer holiday. There is more information further down this page, and full details can be found on our holiday workshops page.

Our Summer Drama Clubs are hugely successful and popular with children and parents alike. Once again this year we are taking over St. Monica’s Parish Centre on Cannon Hill for three full weeks of drama! As well as all the drama, there is plenty of opportunity for children to make new friends and enjoy working together, eating together, and playing together in our lovely sunny garden.

By the end of the course there is a real sense of exhilaration and camaraderie as the children make preparations for the final show and get ready to share their work with Mum, Dad, baby brother, and whoever else has come along.

Here’s what we’re running this summer:

Week 1: 27–31 July 2015

Introductory Stage (ages 4–6): Wonderland
Junior Stage (ages 7–11): The Wolves in the Walls
Senior Stage (ages 12+): Professional Theatre/TV Workshop*

Week 2: 3–7 August 2015

Introductory Stage (ages 4–6): Fairytale Forest
Junior Stage (ages 7–11): Adventures in Narnia
Senior Stage (ages 12+): Professional Theatre/TV Workshop*

Week 3: 10–14 August 2015

Introductory Stage (ages 4–6): Superheroes
Junior Stage (ages 7–11): Annie the Musical
Senior Stage (ages 12+): Professional Theatre/TV Workshop*

*We hire professional actors to run our Senior Stage courses and will be in a position to confirm details of the workshops nearer the time.

Our summer drama workshops tend to fill up very quickly, so don’t miss out! Bookings received before 5 June 2015 qualify for a 10% early booking discount, and there are also discounts for siblings and multiple weeks.

Full details on our holiday workshops page.

October Half-Term 2013 Holiday Workshop

Theme: The Sheep-Pig (Babe)
Level: Introductory/Foundation (Reception–Year 3)

Time: 9.30am–3.30pm (please bring a packed lunch)

Dick King-Smith’s classic children’s novel The Sheep-Pig is the touching tale of Babe, an orphaned piglet adopted by a kind-hearted sheepdog and her gruff but gentle owner. Babe is determined to learn everything he can. The puppies think he’s “stupid”, but in the end he outshines them all! Good news for Crouch Enders!

We were very sorry to announce in July that owing to circumstances beyond our control, Movers and Shakers classes would no longer be taking place at Rokesly Children’s Centre.
